A DONATION of £100 and several food parcels were handed over to the Storehouse Foodbank thanks to the generosity of the Rotary Club of Trowbridge Wessex Mead.
President of the rotary club, Andrew Mullens, presented the food, which had been gathered by club members from a food collection, and donation to foodbank manager Chris Neighbour last week.
Mr Neighbour, who the club’s most recent meeting, also told the members about the history and work that goes into running the foodbank.
“The generosity of the Trowbridge public never ceases to amaze me. The number of items that we have received in recent weeks is up more than 110 per cent than normal - that is phenomenal,” he said.
“We are so grateful for every donation we get as we know how much it helps local disadvantaged people.
“I wish we did not have these but the fact that people come to us shows that foodbanks are very important to people.”
