TOMMY silhouettes, designed to commemorate the sacrifices of WWI soldiers, will be on display at County Hall to remember Wiltshire soldiers in the war.

Five silhouettes will be on display at Wiltshire Council offices in Trowbridge as part of the county’s commemoration of the centenary of World War One.

The national There But Not There campaign has already raised over £2m for armed forces and mental health charities.

Baroness Jane Scott, leader of Wiltshire Council, said: “We can never do enough to commemorate the tremendous sacrifice made by the hundreds of Wiltshire soldiers who joined all those who fought bravely in WW1. These silhouettes are a very poignant reminder of the sacrifice these soldiers made and I’m proud to support this important campaign.”

Communities across Wiltshire have pledged to plant 10,000 trees, one for every member of the Armed Forces from Wiltshire who died during the conflict.
