A MAN fell into the River Avon near the Rivo Lounge at 7.44pm on Sunday night, and was unable to get out because of the steep, slippery embankment.
A fire crew from Chippeham took water rescue equipment to help him to safety and handed him into the care of paramedics. The crew also searched the river bank with a thermal imaging camera to ensure no-one else needed assistance.
