THE five Trowbridge & District League Division One matches played last Saturday produced 30 goals between them.

Three Daggers remain top of the table after a brace from substitute Martin Johnson saw them claim all three points from their visit to Calne Eagles with a 2-0 success.

Top flight new boys Holt travelled to current champions Freshford United and came away from Brown’s Park with a 5-3 victory.

Mark Maguire led the Holt scorers with two and was accompanied on the scoresheet by Ali Bradley, Mark Robinson and Bradley King-Taylor. Freshford’s replies came courtesy of Edward Katumba, Alfie Little and Dave Percival.

Hilperton United romped to an 8-0 success over Trowbridge Town Reserves at Whaddon Lane, with seven different goalscorers.

Luke Murden led the way with a brace as Tom Blackman, Chris Foley, Graham Griffiths, Daniel Plank, Kierran Ramsey and Jake Samuel joined him on the scoresheet.

Warminster Town Reserves matched that one-sided scoreline against Melksham Town A, whose starting 11 included manager Mark Lewis.

Samuel Dufosee scored four of the home side’s goals and efforts from Corey Gardner, Josh Gardner, Nyke Fletcher and Sam McEntee made up the eight.

Heytesbury remain in second place following their 3-1 away win at Semington Magpies.

Dan Dicks bagged a brace and Craig Sheppard was also on target for Heytesbury, with a Marc Scammell header providing the consolation goal for Magpies.

DIVISION TWO

THREE of the four away sides in Division Two went home with the three points and a clean sheet this weekend.

Warminster United still top the table after their 3-0 win at Lambrok Rangers, courtesy of a goal from James Vincent and two from Ashley Caws.

Marshfield are now in second spot after a 5-0 away win at Greyhound. Ewan Anderson (2), Toby Clarke, David Jenkins and Matt Glover sealed a comprehensive win for the villagers.

Westbury United Development travelled to St Mary’s Playing Field, Steeple Ashton, where two goals from George Pawling was enough to see off The Stiffs 2-0.

The game at Zeals at home to Spencers saw 10 goals scored, with the home side winning 6-4.

Aaron Carter scored a hat-trick for the hosts as Ben Hogg, Adam Welch and Ben Rogerson made up the half dozen. Spencers’ Brendan Knight also scored a hat-trick and Jordan Meakin completed their tally of four.

SOMERSET INTERMEDIATE CUP

BATH-BASED Aces progressed in the Somerset Intermediate Cup, winning 6-5 on penalties over Timsbury Athletic A after, the two sides shared a 3-3 draw over 90 minutes played. Aces now go on to face Park Knowle Reserves next month.
