DIVISION Two sides Warminster United and Marshfield pulled off shocks in the Trowbridge & District League’s Chantry Digital-sponsored Knockout Cup second round as they beat higher tier opposition.
Warminster travelled to Three Daggers where a hat-trick each from Thomas Welch and Matt Dyer saw them to a comprehensive 6-1 victory. Daggers’ reply was scored by Phil Hampson.
Marshfield had a much tougher game, edging a 5-4 thriller away at Semington Magpies after extra time.
A hat-trick from Jeremy Bond and a goal each from Ewan Anderson and George Ball saw Marshfield through. Two goals for Richard Allum and one apiece for Marc Scammell and Jake Abbott answered for Semington.
Jacob Charlwood marked his first start for Heytesbury by scoring twice in an 8-0 win against Calne Town Reserves.
Four goals from Liam Gibbens and a brace from Craig Sheppard completed Heytesbury’s haul.
Trowbridge Town Reserves triumphed 5-0 on their short trip to Trowbridge Wanderers Development.
Ben Ryder led the way with a hat-trick, with Matt Elliott and Marc Sheppard also on target.
Strikes from Kurt Hammond, Reece Collyer, Nick Taylor and Corey Gardner fired Warminster Town Reserves to a 4-0 win over Westbury United Development.
Freshford won 2-0 in the all-Division One clash against Holt thanks to two goals from Edward Katumba.
DIVISION ONE
TWO goals from Jack Woolsgrove fired Melksham Town A to a 3-1 victory over Calne Eagles.
Cam Thomas also scored for Melksham as Josh Madle replied for Eagles.
DIVISION TWO
ZEALS were 3-1 winners on their trip to The Stiffs. Aaron Carter, Dan Bryce and Ethan Wilkinson scored for Zeals, with Stephen Lewin The Stiffs’ marksman.
