ROYAL Wootton Bassett Town Sunday kept up their unbeaten run in the Swindon Sunday League after a comprehensive 6-1 win over Croft Junior in Division One.

A Ryan Thomas hat-trick did the brunt of the damage for Bassett, while Jack Duckers, Sam English and Danny Hale completed the scoring. Stefan Edwards replied for the visitors.

The only other game in Division One to go ahead saw Penhill United stroll to a comfortable 7-1 win at AFC Mannington. Stephen Peacey scored the home side’s only goal.

There were no games played in either Division Two or the Wiltshire County Sunday Cup at the weekend, with Purton Redhouse’s cup tie against Halfway House Harriers falling foul of the weather.

Meanwhile, Wheatsheaf Sunday’s league match against Rudis in Division Two was postponed.

There were no such problems in Division Three, however, as five of the six scheduled games all went ahead.

Gustoso held on to their unbeaten start after a 4-1 win over mid-table Swindon Rovers. Corey King nabbed a brace, while Liam Crabbe and Darren Thomas also scored for the home side. Dalton Harfield netted the visitors’ reply.

Dan Heath scored the only goal of the game as table-topping PSV Swindon edged past second-bottom Merlin 1-0.

Swindon Waiting Rooms got the better of Wroughton Rovers with a tennis-set score as Rooms beat Rovers 7-5. David Rendell scored four, while Lee Toomey completed SWR’s scoring with a hat-trick of his own. Morgan Watts’s hat-trick for Wroughton was in vain as they left empty-handed.

Lydiard came out on top against Swindon Saracens thanks to a 3-2 win, while Nationwide made hard work of their 3-1 win over The Abbey Mead.

An Andrew Goodchild brace was added to by Joshua Kaliroy to give Nationwide all three points and keep them fourth in the table.
