A BUDDING young cyclist from Chippenham has presented a check to the Wiltshire Air Ambulance after completing a sponsored cycle ride.

Eight-year-old Jacob O'Sullivan of Cowleaze decided to cycle 15 miles from the canal trust cafe in Bradford on Avon along the canal to the George Inn in Bathampton after he was given a new bike for his eighth birthday.

He set himself a fundraising target of £500 which he beat, raising a total of £610.

Jacob's mum and stepdad joined him on the cycle ride.

Mark Patterson, Jacob's stepdad said: "We're all so proud of Jacob, both for raising so much money for such an important charity and for cycling so far, full of energy and a positive attitude. "

Last week Jacob was invited to go the Airbase in Semington and was shown around the facility and the aircraft as well as proudly presenting his cheque.
