MOSCOW City Ballet makes a triumphant return to the Theatre Royal in Bath with its spectacular production of Tchaikovsky’s The Nutcracker.

The timeless story of Clara, who is whisked away on a magical adventure by her Nutcracker Prince, is presented in classic Russian style.

With stunning costumes and sumptuous sets and superb dancing from the male Principals and Prima Ballerina, this is an enchanting treat for the whole family.

The story follows Clara’s fantastical Christmas Eve adventures in the beautiful Kingdom of Flowers and gives the audience the opportunity to revel in dramatic traditional story-telling and experience the joy of classical Russian ballet.

The large cast of highly talented and outstanding young dancers, gorgeous costumes and magnificent staging make this production a truly magical performance which was hugely appreciated by the audience.

There are commanding virtuoso performances from Ksenia Stankevich as Clara, Daniil Orlov as Drosselmeier, and Dimitry Lazovik as the Prince, and the soloists for the Spanish, Russian, Eastern and Chinese dances.

Their sheer artistry, superb technique, narrative and music produce a visual feast of pure make-believe, with favourite characters the Mouse King, the Nutcracker Prince and the Doll bringing Drosselmeier’s strange and magical world to life.

Moscow City Ballet’s latest interpretation of this eternal favourite makes it an unmissable delight for all the family, particularly youngsters who have never been to the ballet before.

Moscow City Ballet is offering a half-price ticket rate for children attending with an adult for all performances.

The Nutcracker is on until Wednesday, January 23. Tickets from the Theatre Royal Bath Box Office on 01225 448844 or online at www.theatreroyal.org.uk
