SWINDON Town will discover their Carabao Cup first round opponents on Thursday – the same day as fixtures for the new EFL season are released.

Town’s League Two schedule for the 2019-20 campaign will be announced at 9am, and Richie Wellens’ side will then find out their Carabao Cup fate later that evening.

The draw for round one of the competition will take place from 7pm at a branch of supermarket Morrisons close to Wembley Stadium – the venue for the final later in the season.

A total of 70 EFL clubs will be involved in the draw, including Huddersfield Town following their relegation from the Premier League last season.

Fellow former top-flight clubs Fulham and Cardiff City join the draw in round two alongside the Premier League clubs not competing in European competitions.

The draw will see teams split into northern and southern sections, with first round matches scheduled to take place in week commencing August 12.
