TWO concerts at St Andrew’s Church in Chippenham have set WellBoring records.

The Treorchy Male Choir event on Saturday July 13 raised £584, a record for a retiring collection. Sara Stagg and Brenda McDermott’s recital of the previous weekend raised £981, a record for donations at a single event.

WellBoring chairman Nigel Linacre said: “As a local, volunteer-led charity, we’re delighted that the people of Wiltshire are really getting behind WellBoring."

Wiltshire-based WellBoring has now got safe water to more than 60 schools in Kenya and Uganda and aims to reach 100 schools by late 2020.

The next concert is being planned for Saturday, October 5, when Cause Chorus, Gospel Rocks and Lingmara will sing.
