BRADFORD Town continued their perfect start to the new season with a superb six-point haul in the Toolstation League Premier Division this week.

Wayne Thorne’s side followed up a 4-2 success away at Tavistock on Saturday with a 2-0 victory at Chipping Sodbury Town on Tuesday night.

The Bobcats have won all four games they have played in all competitions in the 2019-20 season and currently sit third in the early league table.

After a long trip to Devon, Gary Higdon got Bradford’s six-point week going with the opening goal at Tavistock at the weekend.

Tyson Pollard doubled the advantage, although the home side were able to reduce the arrears to 2-1 at half-time.

Lewis Powell struck early in the second half to restore the Bobcats’ two-goal advantage and then Pollard pulled the visitors further clear with his second goal of the afternoon.

A late penalty to make the score 4-2 gave Tavistock a glimmer of hope but the Bobcats were not to be denied.

On Tuesday at Chipping Sodbury, Bradford were again the beneficiaries of a rapid start as Neikell Plummer fired them ahead early on.

The score remained 1-0 until 10 minutes from time when Higdon made the points safe with the visitors’ second.

Meanwhile, Westbury United had no game at the weekend before going down 3-1 at home to Hallen on Wednesday night.

Ricky Hulbert had fired United ahead but Hallen struck three times without reply in the second half to snatch the points.

Westbury are again without a fixture on Saturday, while Bradford have a home clash against Bath neighbours Larkhall Athletic in the FA Cup preliminary qualifying round.
