HIGHWORTH Town were dumped out of the FA Cup on Saturday after falling to a four-goal loss away to Toolstation Premier Division side Tavistock AFC.

Despite facing opponents from the tier below Southern League Division One South, Jeff Roberts’ side collapsed in the second half and conceded three goals – ending their hopes of reaching the competition’s third qualifying round.

Evans put the home side in front before second half markers from Tallen, Crago and Cloke put Highworth out of their misery on what proved to be a disappointing afternoon for the club.

The visitors weren’t helped by injury, though. Jordan Roberts was lost to injury with just 20 minutes played – he had to be replaced by Matt Cheetham.

Skipper Ryan Morgan was forced off the pitch on the stroke of half-time, Sam Morris came on in his place.

Focus for Roberts’ men will now turn to next Saturday’s Southern League Division One South trip to tackle Frome Town.
