JOE Hiscock scored a hat-trick for Croft Junior as they defeated Openwork United 7-3 in the only game to take place in Division One of the Swindon Sunday League at the weekend.

Hiscock’s treble took Croft above previous league leaders Highworth Town Sunday on goal difference, although theu have now played a game more due to their rivals’ free weekend.

Stefan Edwards also scored twice for the visitors, while Aaron Dale and Fraser Evans struck one apieace to cancel out goals from Openwork’s Jamie Clements, Callum Cormack and Michael McCluskey.

Andrew Goodchild scored four times to help Nationwide roar to a 10-1 victory on the road at Gorsehill Borough and go top of the Division Two table at the weekend.

James Joyce scored a hat-trick as well for Nationwide, while Ben Langley also netted. Two own goals completed the scoring for the visitors.

AFC Mannington and Jovial Monk played shared the spoils as they played out a 5-5 thriller.

Luke Richards bagged a hat-trick for Monk, while Jonathan Peachy-Score and Richie Miles also contributed one each.

Purton Redhouse moved up to third in the table following their comfortable 7-2 victory over Swindon Saracens.

Despite goals from Ryan Walker and Sean Murnane, Redhouse proved too strong for their visitors and Josh Harper’s double, coupled with Michael Rayner’s brace and goals from Charlie Cook, Ryan Phillips and substitute Bradley Watts, helped the home side claim all three points.

Division Three leaders The Boundary House scored a magnificent seven goals against basement-dwellers Covingham United to roar to a dominant 7-0 success.

Mike Cox led the way by grabbing a hat-trick, while Kieran Butler, Danny Hale, Jordan Kinsey and substitute George Cook also got themselves on the scoresheet.

Second-placed Smartmovers remained level on points with the table-toppers thanks to a hard-fought 3-1 victory away at 147SC, while Bakers Sunday kept up the pressure in third place thanks to a straightforward 4-1 win over Swiss Chalet.

Swindon Rovers claimed a comprehensive 9-1 victory away at Woven, while Sevenfields United got the better of a nine-goal thriller at home to Ridgeway Rovers to claim a 5-4 success.

Michael Gregory, David Jones, Conor Seymour and Will Smyth all bagged important goals for Sevenfields, whose five was completed by an own goal.
