AREA Boards funding has helped over 70,000 people who live in Wiltshire through community projects and support.
The 18 area boards have had a combined spending power of over £1.2m and gave funding to 600 projects in the last 12 months.
Over 2000 volunteers have run these projects for their community.
Wiltshire Cabinet Member for Communities, Cllr Allison Bucknell said “Our area boards continue to support our communities through the grant scheme, which is going from strength to strength.
“A huge variety of projects have gone on to flourish following our initial investment, making a real difference for people of all ages.
“We are delighted that we have been able to support so many applications from people who are passionate about helping their communities and organisations – and it’s very rewarding to be able to help them on their way.”
Cash has been spent on services to help young people as well as services to improve local people’s health and well being.
