OVERNIGHT rain continued to have an affect on matches in the Swindon Sunday League as only one fixture took place in Division One last weekend.

Despite that curtailed schedule, a double-figure goals tally was still produced – with all of the markers coming at the same end as FC Walcot roared to a landslide 10-0 win at home to Uppercuts.

The result means Walcot are now five points clear at the top of the table, although nearest challengers Croft Junior do have a game in hand.

Three matches took place in Division Two in total, with the pick of those being the thrilling 5-5 draw between Swindon Saracens and visitors Atletico Marlborough.

Elsewhere, Aaron Stubbs struck a hat-trick and Sean Irwin got the other goal as PSV Swindon claimed a 4-2 win at home to bottom side Rudis.

Gorsehill Borough edged out Chiseldon Sunday 3-2 – Rui Santana dos Santos and Stewart Parsons were the visitors’ two scorers.

In Division Three, Sevenfields United moved within three points of league leaders The Boundary House after edging to a 5-3 victory at way at basement boys Ridgeway Rovers.

Michael Gregory led the way with a superb hat-trick, while Daryl Herring and Luke Murphy were also on target for Sevenfields.

Andrew Ponting, Daniel Crocker and Travis Hartshorn replied for Ridgeway.

Will Lewis scored all three goals as Covingham United triumphed 3-1 at Swiss Chalet in the only other match in the bottom tier.

Greyhound were involved in the Wiltshire Sunday Cup but fell to a 2-1 defeat at the weekend when they travelled to Chippenham Sunday League side FC Lacock.
