A PARTNERSHIP that plans to increase provision for youngsters wanting to play football in Swindon has been established between the town’s Primary Schools’ Football Association (PSFA) and New College.

The PSFA claims to be the only body in the town with permission to organise primary schools’ football within the borough.

The association has 70 member schools and runs a representative team made up of the best young footballers in the town, who use the facilities at New College weekly.

Swindon PSFA secretary Steve Beale said: “The 3G pitch and sports hall at New College are both fantastic facilities and enable the young players in our representative squad to train each week throughout the season.

“We are very grateful to New College for their support of this team and primary schools in Swindon who will be able to book the floodlit pitch when their own grass pitches cannot be used.”

Ryan Elliott, community sports officer at New College, added: “We are proud to be working closely with Steve and Swindon PSFA.

“This demonstrates our close working relationships within the football community in and around Swindon.

“Our aim is to continue building strong links whist being able to offer a fantastic playing surface in our FIFA tested and FA affiliated facility.”
