TWENTY seven pubs celebrated their success with Devizes brewer Wadworth at the independent family firm’s annual Best Of The Best awards.

The awards ceremony toasted the best pubs and people from Wadworth’s managed and tenanted pub estates.

Among those taking home prizes from the evening was Adrian Bartels who did not have far to travel as he is manager of The Bear where the awards were staged. He took the prize for best chef.

Other Wiltshire winners included Amanda Baker for managed house best team member; Danny and Tara Adams from The Canal Tavern, Bradford On Avon for best tenanted trade pubs in bloom; Vincent and Jackie Crowley from the Cock Inn, Warminster for best tenanted neighbourhood pub and Heidi Harbers who received the special recognition prize for best tenanted newcomer.

Pascal and Penny Rivault from the Bell on the Common, Broughton Gifford for best tenanted food; Matt Humphries from the Three Crowns, Devizes for best managed beer and cellar quality and Danny and Tara Adams from The Greyhound, Bromham for the best tenanted trade business partner.

Wadworth CEO Chris Welham praised his staff and said: “Our pubs are unique and special and these awards recognise the dedication and hard work that goes into creating some of the Great British Pubs around.

I’m extremely proud of all the Wadworth pubs recognised and they deserve huge congratulations. The biggest winners are the communities that have these pubs at their very heart and I’m sure they will help them celebrate their success in the future.” A total of 27 awards given to the standout pubs from across the region.
