SWINDON Town boss Richie Wellens has been nominated for the League Two manager of the month award for November, with striker Eoin Doyle in the running for the players’ prize too.

Wellens’ selection comes after an unbeaten league run throughout November after Town picked up three wins out of three in the month following victories over Walsall, Salford City and Mansfield Town.

Those results – which came amid a current six-match winning streak – have lifted Town to the top of the league table.

Wellens is nominated alongside Northampton Town manager Keith Curle, Scunthorpe United’s Paul Hurst and Plymouth Argyle chief Ryan Lowe.

Doyle receives a nominated for his second successive League Two Player of the Month award, having picked up the accolade for October.

The Irishman’s goalscoring glut has continued as he found the net in all three of Town’s league games in November – scoring a total of four times in the month after a brace against Salford.

Doyle has now scored in eight League Two games in a row and is well clear at the top of the division’s scoring charts with 18 strikes to his name already this term.

The 31-year-old is up against Forest Green Rovers midfielder Ebou Adams, Plymouth midfielder Antoni Sarcevic and Northampton defender Scott Wharton for the award.
