THE town council grant for Trowbridge Carnival could be cut by £2,000.
Councillors on the policy and resources committee approved plans by the Trowbridge council's leisure and information services committee to reduce the grant from £5,000 to £3,000 for this year.
The £3,000 to be given will support infrastructure for this year's Carnival.
The remaining £2,000 is likely to be used for other town events, such as the Apple Festival and the regular Weaver's Markets.
