Steven Benda – 7.5

Little to do between the sticks with Port Vale registering just one shot on goal. Probably one of the quietest games he will be a part of.

Rob Hunt – 8

An excellent cross to tee up Hope for his first Town goal. Another composed performance from one of Wellens’ most trustworthy players.

Mathieu Baudry – 8

Returning to the squad after a lengthy spell out because of injury. Worked well with newbie Edmonds-Green, a welcome return.

Rarmani Edmonds-Green – 8.5

Proved his worth as a first teamer on a much better pitch. Won headers courtesy of his spring heeled jumps and unlucky no to bag a goal.

Paul Caddis – 8

The odd misplaced pass, but those were definitely outweighed by his creative plays forward. A key cog in Town’s promotion chasing wheel.

Anthony Grant – 9.5

A total nuisance for Port Vale to deal with, and picked up a deserved man of the match award. Involved in two of the three goals. Fine performance.

Michael Doughty – 9

Inch perfect placement from a free kick to notch Town’s third. Battled hard to win possession and delivered an excellent pass to Hunt in the build up to the second goal.

Diallang Jaiyesimi – 8.5

Unplayable at times, and took his chance when presented with a goalscoring opportunity – certainly not afraid to pull the trigger in Doyle and Yates’ absence.

Lloyd Isgrove – 7

Had his moments, most noticeably when skipping past two men before winning a free kick which resulted in Town’s third goal. But has hit a bit of a flat spot.

Hallam Hope – 8

Grabbed a clinical goal on debut and got himself into good positions. Slotted into the team well considering he trained with Carlisle on Thursday morning.

Kaiyne Woolery – 7.5

Could and should’ve grabbed at least one goal, unlikely not to when striking the post late on. Got himself into good goalscoring positions.
