PEDAL power helped an inspirational ex-serviceman raise funds for his favourite charity.
With his team of supporters, Eric Ayling completed a static bike ride for 60 hours, around eight hours a day, for a seven-day challenge. He cycled a total of over 300 miles.
He presented his cheque for Help for Heroes raising over £5,000 for the charity, raised through sponsorship and a raffle.
Eric, from Corsham, said: “2019 was a rollercoaster of a year. I was doing all this training at the gym which I enjoy so I thought I may as well put it to some use.
“I was hoping to get near £5,000 and we achieved that. I was very happy as I want to help the service people and their families. It’s just something I feel very strongly about.
“They want to help people lead a normal life so it helps them and their families. If I can help by raising money I feel I’m doing my bit and I’m proud of it. People were phenomenal who took part and donated.”
