RAGING winds caused by Storm Dennis’ arrival from the south-west forced all regional non-league clubs to postpone their respective fixtures on Saturday.
Lee Spalding’s Swindon Supermarine were denied a chance to build on their sensational win against Chesham United as their home game against Metropolitan Police was called off in the morning – a re-staging date is yet to be confirmed.
Highworth Town were also forced to postpone their Southern League Division One game at home to Cinderford Town. The club confirmed a re-staging date will be announced as soon as possible.
Meanwhile in the Hellenic League, Shrivenham’s game at Ardley United was called off. Royal Wootton Bassett Town and Fairford Town had the luxury of a free weekend, though, and so weren’t impacted by the storm.
