HUNDREDS of youngsters at primary schools in Calne are being urged to design a new safety sign for one of the town's housing developments.
Deputy mayor, Cllr Richard Jones has launched the competition to design new safety signs for the Lansdowne development as part of a road safety initiative.
He said: "We're opening the competition out to all primary school aged children in Calne aged four to 11.
"To take part, create your masterpiece on A4 landscape paper using any medium of design with dimensions 29.7centimetres by 21cm.
"The chosen winners of the competition will be presented their prizes at a special ceremony at their school.
"Entries should include the child's name, age, class and school on the back of the design, so that we can identify which design belongs to you."
The deadline for entries is Friday, March 20 and can be submitted through schools taking part or at the Calne Visitor & Information Centre which opens Mon-Thurs 9am-5pm and Fri 9am-4.30pm.
