A £5,000 quad bike was stolen overnight – and apparently ridden over fields near Royal Wootton Bassett.

Two Broad Town farms were targeted and gardening equipment, power tools and the Honda quad bike were stolen on Saturday night. The items were taken between 8pm and 8am.

On Facebook, Royal Wootton Bassett Police wrote: “We would like to hear from anyone who has information regarding the theft or any sightings of the equipment being transported. The thieves would have needed a van of some description to load all the tools into and the quad bike.

“If you were travelling along the road between Royal Wootton Bassett and Broad Town last night did you see a van parked up? If so, do you have any dash-cam footage?

“If anyone is offered second-hand gardening equipment for sale at below market value please be cautious and call us with information.”

Anyone with information should call Wiltshire Police on 101 or Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
