A MOTORCYCLIST dies following a collision on the A36 near Warminster

Police are appealing for witnesses following the accident this morning (March 9).

Police said: "We were called shortly before 10.40am this morning to a collision between a motorcyclist and a van on the section of the A36 between the Crockerton and Heytesbury roundabouts.

"The motorcyclist, a man in his 60s from the Westbury area, was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.

"His next of kin have been informed and are being supported by specially-trained officers. Our thoughts are with them at this very sad time."

The male driver of the Ford Transit van was not injured and remained at the scene. No arrests have been made.

The road remains closed at this stage while collision investigation work is carried out.

Police are appealing for anyone with information, including anyone who may have dash cam footage which may assist enquiries, to call them.
