MELKSHAM is to get its own full-time local radio station, after the regulator Ofcom awarded a license to Radio Melksham Limited, a new not-for-profit company set up to deliver that service.
The new radio station is expected to start broadcasting within the next twelve months. Radio Melksham will be a local radio service for the community of Melksham and the surrounding areas including Shaw, Atworth, Beanacre, Lacock, Semington and Whitley.
It will be run by volunteers from the community, supporting local groups and organisations, whilst providing entertainment and great music for the area's residents at home and at work.
It will be broadcast on FM, online via its website, and via streaming apps. If you would like to get involved with Radio Melksham, either on-air or in back-office operations, the team would like to hear from you.
You can find out more at www.radiomelksham.co.uk, email office@radiomelksham.co.uk, and follow @radiomelksham on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.
