MANAGER Lee Spalding has every confidence Swindon Supermarine can return to winning ways against Harrow Borough this weekend.

Marine will be eager to shore up their play-off place in Southern League Premier South against the visiting London club on Saturday.

They enter the game on the back of defeat at Hayes & Yeading United last weekend, their previous game a draw in the reverse fixture two weeks prior.

Spalding knows there are plenty of points still on offer with a little under a quarter of the league season remaining.

And he’s got his attention firmly focused on what his side is up to first and foremost.

“At this stage of the season it’s not about what other teams are doing, it’s about what we’re doing,” he said.

“It’s about making sure we take care of the games we’ve got. There are ten games left; 30 points is a lot to play for at this stage of the season so we’ll look to take as many of those as we can and see where we end up at the end of the season.

“We’ve got ten big games left and we’ve got to try and win as many of them as possible.

“We’re still in a good position and we’re being positive looking forward to next Saturday when we’ve got Harrow Borough at home.

“It’ll be another good test for us against a side who won on Saturday, so they’ll be in a good place.

“But I’m confident. If we go out and play to our full potential and we can find that cutting edge again, I’m sure we can get the three points.”

When the two sides met at the Earlsmead Stadium back in November it was Marine that ran out the victors after a thrilling contest.

Goals in the 71st and 73rd minutes appeared to leave the Webbswood outfit en route to defeat.

But a stunning turnaround and goals from Ryan Campbell, Harry Williams and a Michael Hopkins penalty gave Supermarine a stunning 3-2 triumph.

Borough enter this weekend’s contest on the back of a 3-1 win away to Met Police, which arrested a seven-match winless run.

“They’ve got a lot of good attacking players and certainly carry a threat,” Spalding said.

“If we’re not right on the day we won’t take anything from the game. I know we will be right, we will put on a good performance at home.

“We’re in a great position at the moment, still in the play-offs.

“If you’d offered me a play-off position at the start of the season at this point, I’d have snapped your hand off.

“It’s exciting because we’re still playing for something and that’s a good place to be at this time of the season.”
