A FUTURISTIC science dome landed at Ivy Lane Primary School in Chippenham, last Thursday. (12th).

As part of British Science week, pupils at the school were able to experience science in a very different way.

"Pupils from all year groups were allowed into the dome in their classes," said Caroline Storey, science lead at the school.

"They were able to lay on the floor and see the whole of the solar system move above their heads and the world of the dinosaurs on the ceiling above them."

She added: " It's been a great opportunity to bring science alive for the pupils as they were able to experience it in a way we can't do in the classroom.

"It certainly inspired an awe for science in so many of them.

"The children and staff would like to thank Chippenham Borough Lands Charity for funding this amazing project."

Year 1 pupil, Tom, said: "It was absolutely amazing, we went to Mars."

Henry in year 3 said: "I found out we were the first people to land on Mars."
