A MAN in his 60s has died after being found in the Kennet and Avon canal.
The incident happened yesterday evening (March 20) on Pound Lane in Semington where despite the paramedics efforts to save him after rescuing him from the water, they were not able to.
A Wiltshire Police spokesman said: "At approximately 5pm yesterday we were called to reports of a man lying in the water of the Kennet and Avon canal.
"Ambulance were also called and paramedics attempted CPR on the man (who’s in his 60s) after he’d been lifted out of the water.
"Sadly, he was pronounced dead at the scene. We are not treating the death as suspicious."
His next of kin have been informed.
