DRIVERS should avoid parts of Saxton Street and Wessex Road as they will be temporarily closed to allow the council to resurface the roads.
Likewise, parts of Wessex Road will be closed for 50m east from 25 Wessex Road.
A portion of Saxton Street, Chippenham will be partly shut off for a distance of approximately 50m in a southerly direction.
Likewise, part of Wessex Road, Chippenham; from 25 Wessex Road will be closed for 50m in an easterly direction.
The suggested diversions to avoid the works are via the unaffected length of Wessex Road, Saxon Street and Brook Street.
The council stated that access will be maintained for residents and businesses, where possible.
The road works are due to begin on Monday, May 18 and are scheduled to be completed by August 31, 2020.
However, the timescale is dependant on weather conditions, and the council also stated that “delays are likely due to the nature of the works”.
