A STUDLEY photographer who has seen bookings fall through the floor since lockdown has dusted off her lenses to create a documentary snapshot of life from the doorstep.

Tash Lee is using the downturn to create Doorstep Diaries and is sending the donations for her work to NHS charities.

So far, she has raised more than £900, and she is now striking further afield to capture as many doorstep portraits as she can during her daily exercise.

She uses her daily walk to capture family life on the doorstep and she gives out her daily route on social media so residents of Studley, and Derry Hill, Calne, can contact her so that she can capture their lockdown life as she walks by.

The photos are all free to download in colour and black and white on her company’s website – all for a voluntary donation to NHS Charities.

“As wedding and family photographers, we love our jobs and adore capturing those special moments,” she said.

“With the current coronavirus outbreak, sadly we have had to put down our cameras and step away from the job and work we love.

“Doorstep Diaries has given me the opportunity to do what I love and keep photographing, of course adhering to those all-important social distancing guidelines.

“In addition to that, I get to meet more of the local community, bring a smile to their face, capture this historical moment and raise money for the wonderful NHS. It is something that I could do amidst all the sadness, disruption and difficulties.”

Tash has already covered the areas in walking distance of her home, but is now starting to use her bike, so she can get a little further.

Her first bike-powered doorstep diary session took her to Sandy Lane, now she is hoping to cover parts of Calne and Chippenham.

So far, the project had raised £900 for NHS charities and now Tash can travel further by bike in her daily exercise she is hoping she can raise even more.

Her work has had great response from those being photographed.

Nicola Heath, who was photographed by Tash said: “It has been such a hard time for so many different people for so many different reasons! Well done Tash for capturing all the smiles and organising this to support the NHS!”.

Cory, from Derry Hill, hanging out in his old pirate ship said: "It's been so lovely to see everyone around the village when we can't see them for real."
