Cricklade high street has been brightened up with a cheeky floral display.
Maria Landure, owner of His and Hairs Casa and came up with the idea of turning jeans into colourful containers after seeing a flower festival in Portugal.
The 54-year-old said: “The idea was inspired by Madeira Flower Festival and I had some old jeans I no longer wanted, so I decided to make the area look better.
“I attached the jeans to the wall, I put some soil in them and planted some flowers, it looked so much better.
“It was so much fun to do, it wasn’t the easiest thing to make but it gave me something to do.”
Maria, of Cirencester, didn’t want to just do it to make the area look nicer but to cheer people in the area up.
She said: “I wanted to bring a bit of joy to the town, people have loved it they’ve told me it has lifted their spirits up.
“The square had been neglected for several years and I think when something isn’t looked after and doesn’t look nice it can get people down.
“It’s been quite rewarding to get such a positive response from people. If anyone is having a bad day I hope that when they walk past it puts a smile on their face.”
Maria spends her time sprucing up different places by making displays like rockeries.
She enjoys making things out of unwanted items.
And she plans to bring back the town’s Christmas tree this year.
