THE following people have appeared before magistrates in Swindon and Salisbury:

CHIPPENHAM: Stacey Dawn Skuse, 37, of no fixed abode, pleaded guilty to stealing meat worth £28 from Tesco in Chippenham on April 10. She was also charged with stealing alcohol worth £32 from Morrisons in Chippenham on February 11; of using threatening, abusive words or behaviour likely to cause harassment, alarm or distress in Chippenham on June 22; of being drunk and disorderly in Chippenham on June 19; of stealing a £6 bottle of wine from Sainsbury’s in Chippenham on April 29; of stealing a £5 bottle of wine from One Stop in Chippenham on January 26; and of racially abusing a police officer in Chippenham on January 26. No pleas were indicated.

TROWBRIDGE: Mckenzie Stephen Brooks, 24, of Trowbridge Road, Hilperton, pleaded not guilty to assaulting a police officer in Trowbridge on April 19.

MINETY: William Edward Gifford, 36, of Minety, was sent for trial at Swindon Crown Court on October 23, charged with entering Foxfield Barn, Upper Minety, on September 19 and stealing £40 worth of alcohol. No plea was indicated.

MELKSHAM: Jason Lee Scarff, 30, of Berryfields Park, Melksham, was sent for trial at Swindon Crown Court on October 23 charged with entering land in Station Road, Calne, between July 26 and 29 2019 and stealing tools worth £1,710, namely a Stihl saw, three Makita impact drivers, a Makita combi drill, a Makita SDS drill and a Makita Kango drill. He is also charged with entering a building at The Street, Kilmington, on September 19 with intent to steal, and of possessing an offensive weapon, namely a meat cleaver, in a public place in Chippenham on September 20. No pleas were indicated.

WARMINSTER: James Robert Taylor, 42, of East Street, was remanded on bail to December 21. He is charged with assaulting a woman in Warminster on September 17, causing actual bodily harm; and with assaulting the same woman by beating her in Warminster between June 1 and 30. He is also charged with assaulting the same woman in Warminster by beating her on September 17 and of assaulting a man in Warminster on September 16, causing actual bodily harm. No pleas were indicated. The court imposed a curfew order, electronic tagging and ordered him not to contact the woman.

BRADFORD ON AVON: Andrew Brian Harper, 49, of Bainton Close, was found guilty of assaulting a man by beating him in Chippenham on July 31. He pleaded not guilty. He was fined £120, ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £32 and court costs of £250. A collection order was made.

DEVIZES: magistrates granted a warrant without bail for the arrest of Brean Owen Brown, 21, of White Horse Way. He is charged with a drink-driving offence in Corsham on May 10, and two offences of failing to surrender to custody and to appear at Swindon Magistrates Court on September 21 after being released on bail on September 5.

CORSHAM: Nicholas Antony Hemburrow, 47, of Sandown Crescent, was remanded on unconditional bail to January 4. He pleaded not guilty to contacting a woman in Corsham on December 18 last year in contravention of a non-molestation order made by Swindon Family Court on November 27 2019.

ROYAL WOOTTON BASSETT: Kate Jane Chapman, 52, of Downs View, was sent to prison for eight weeks, suspended for a year, after pleading guilty to possessing an offensive weapon, namely a Stanley knife, in a public place on the A419 in Swindon on November 9. She was ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £122. A collection order was made. The court ordered the knife to be destroyed.

CHIPPENHAM: George Wesley Robert White, 21, of Westcroft, was conditionally discharged for six months and ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £22 after pleading guilty to assaulting a family member by beating him, together with a person unknown, at Chippenham on April 29. A collection order was made.

CHIPPENHAM: Thomas Zack Paul Botting, 28, of Bakehouse Close, is charged with assaulting a woman in Chippenham by beating her on December 4 2019, and of failing to comply with the community requirements of a suspended sentence order imposed by a Swindon court on August 23 2018 by failing to report by telephone on July 20 and 27 this year. No pleas were indicated.
