THE leasehold of the Castle Inn in Bradford on Avon is up for sale with agents inviting offers.

Bristol-based leisure property specialist Fleurets is selling the leasehold of the popular pub which closed in March because of the Covid-19 pandemic lockdown.

It is advertised online as being a "superbly presented property" in a popular Saxon town location.

The pub has four high quality ensuite letting bedrooms, a well proportioned bar and restaurant with 70 covers, and a large beer garden with far reaching countryside views.

The pub was formerly part of the Country Pub Group chain which collapsed into receivership. It failed to reopen in July after the government eased lockdown restrictions.

The struggling company also owned and operated The Battleaxes in Wraxall in Somerset, The Mendip Inn at Shepton Mallet, and The Temple Inn at Temple Cloud. The receivers are Steven Parker and Trevor Binyon, of Opus Restructuring LLP.

Fleurets is also selling the freehold of several other Wiltshire pubs including the Bath Arms at Crockerton for £495,000; the Lopes Arms in Westbury for £300,000; the Hop Pole Inn at Limpley Stoke for £325,000; the Dolphin Inn in Devizes for £195,000 and the George & Dragon in Erlestoke for offers in the region of £300,000; and the leasehold of the Rusty Stag at Broughton Gifford, which is advertised as nil premium.

The company has sold the Hungerford Arms at Farleigh Hungerford, which was advertised at £300,000. The buyer is not known.
