The Knockout Cup, sponsored by Chantry Digital Ltd, started last weekend and Hilperton United stormed into the second round with a 15-2 thrashing of Seend United.

Rhys Fricker led the way for Hilperton with a man of the match display helping himself to five goals.

Ben Spong grabbed a brace and a goal each from Jord McNeil, Kurt James, Con McKay, Alfie Francis, Sam Walker, Joey Cunningham and two own goals made it a very long afternoon for Seend who replied with two efforts by Harry Waylen.

Division Two side The Stiffs entertained Marshfield from Division One and the higher division side were made to fight all the way into the second round, coming from behind to win 2-1.

The Stiffs excellent start to the season continued in the first half going into the break with a 1-0 lead thanks to Ben Fielding.

Marshfield improved in the second half and strikes from Joe Hylands and Josh Madle saw them safely into the next round.

Three Daggers and Melksham Town ‘A’ met in this all Division One tie in the first round of The Knockout Cup sponsored by Chantry Digital Ltd, and it was Three Daggers who will progress winning 3-1.

First-half goals from Gary Tugwell, Tom Blackman and Jordan Kirk were enough to see Daggers into the next round with a second half strike from Joe Lamb proving not enough for Melksham ‘A’.

Warminster United were made to fight all the way against a spirited Dilton Marsh Wanderers, with the top division side coming away with a 2-1 victory over their lower division opponents.

After a goalless first half, Liam Gibbons edged Warminster United into the lead, heading home a Matt Dyer cross.

Gibbons increased Warminster’s lead from the penalty spot before Callum Crabb pulled one back for Wanderers with a spectacular overhead kick to make it a nervous finish for Warminster United.

Division Two side Staverton United hosted Division One side Freshford United in their first round tie in The Knockout Cup, sponsored by Chantry Digital Ltd, but could not prevent their opponents running out with a 4-1 victory.

Freshford’s first was an own goal after good work from Waleed Bakali. Bakali himself added the second with Jack Booth providing the assist.

Jack Sterling was on the scoresheet for the third with Jamie Palour scoring the fourth for an improving Freshford side. Sean Horobin was on the scoresheet for Staverton United.

DIVISION ONE

Calne Town Reserves seem to be going from strength to strength in The Trowbridge Windows and Conservatories Division One, seeing off Heytesbury 7 – 1 to make it four wins from four. In a tight first half there was no sign of the goals to come with Josh Mcgory putting Calne into a 1 – 0 lead. After the break Calne showed they mean business this season with Jamie Wallen scoring Calne’s second before Josh Mcgory scored his second and Calne’s third soon after. Miles Woodward pulled one back for Heytesbury before Dan Dicks unfortunately scored an own goal to increase Calne’s advantage to three again. Mcgory completed his hat-trick for Calne Town Reserves scoring the fifth from the penalty spot before Keiron Gleed helped himself to a brace to complete the seven.

KEW PR FC’s excellent start to life in The Trowbridge Windows and Conservatories sponsored Division One continued, making it three wins from three with a confident 0 – 3 win from their visit to Warminster Town Reserves. Mark Robinson opened the scoring for KEW PR, rounding the keeper and finishing well after 17 minutes. On the hour Robinson scored his and KEW’s second with a smart finish under the goalkeeper. Ashley Poms completed the scoring in the last minute with a close-range effort to ensure KEW keep the pressure on Calne Town Reserves at the top of the division.

DIVISION TWO

Westbury United Reserves remain unbeaten at the top of The Trowbridge Windows and Conservatories sponsored Division Two, confirming their title and promotion ambitions with an excellent 5 – 1 victory against league newcomers Potterne. Two goals apiece from Louis Wilkins and Ollie Dew with one from Harry Trevor saw Westbury’s good form continue. Ash Huntley replied for Potterne scoring from a great free kick.

Calne Eagles took advantage of Staverton United and Dilton Marsh Wanderers involvement in cup action this weekend, moving up to second place in The Trowbridge Windows and Conservatories sponsored Division Two with a comprehensive 5 – 1 win over Aces FC. Mickey Taraskevics opened the scoring for Eagles in the eighth minute with Jake Mizen increasing the advantage just before the break. Adam Welch added the third from the spot after 53 minutes before Taraskevics grabbed his second and Eagles fourth with 20 minutes to play. Lewis Tilley scored Calne Eagles fifth in the 82nd minute before Saba Claudiu grabbed a consolation for Aces in the dying seconds.

After drawing their first two games, Bromham picked up their first win to continue a solid start to life in The Trowbridge Windows and Conservatories sponsored Division Two, winning 1 – 2 at Trowbridge Town Reserves. Second half goals from Luke Child and Adam Butterworth made sure Bromham remain unbeaten and sit in fifth place in Division Two. Hamza Radan was on the scoresheet for Trowbridge who are still searching for their first win of the season.
