Work on building Chippenham's industrial future - and the hope of more than a thousand jobs - is progressing.

Developer St. Modwen has delivered the first 106,000 sq ft unit at St. Modwen Park, forming part of the first phase of development at the 78-acre site, which is located off Junction 17 of the M4. Once complete, the whole scheme is expected to create around 1,300 jobs as well as skills, training and apprenticeship opportunities working with Wiltshire Council and Wiltshire College during construction.

St. Modwen has submitted planning for the second phase to deliver an additional 88,000 sq ft of space due to be delivered in 2021.

Peter Davies, Development Director at St. Modwen said: “The completed site works mean it is now 'oven ready' to accommodate logistics and industrial occupier requirements.”

Philip Whitehead, Leader of Wiltshire Council, added: “We are committed to creating jobs and bringing new opportunities to the area. The first phase of delivery will help to generate inward investment in the area and put Chippenham on the map as a place to do business.”
