SWINDON Supermarine return to action this Saturday against Dorchester Town in the first round of the FA Trophy.

The Webbswood Stadium will play host to live football for the first time in over a month this weekend, and Lee Spalding’s side can welcome up to 2,000 spectators through the turnstiles as the second national lockdown is lifted.

After defeating Highworth Town 3-2 in the final qualifying round, and final fixture before lockdown, Marine host the Magpies of Dorchester Town under new boss Robbie Herrera.

Dorchester currently sit second bottom of the Southern League Premier Division South with just one win this season against Tiverton.

Town’s key player is forward Thomas Bath who has yet to notch this season but struck 14 goals last term.

The two sides met earlier this season in the league, and it was Supermarine who came out on top courtesy of a a 2-0 success in front of a crowd of 331 thanks to an own goal from Dunstan and a header from skipper Matt Liddiard.

It was equally tight last season with a 1-0 win at the Webbswood, thanks to Ryan Campbell, and away where it ended 1-1.

Marine’s only injury concern is over Harry Williams - the striker picked up a hamstring strain against Highworth, but with the four-week enforced break, Williams will have a chance of featuring.

Manager Lee Spalding said: “We fully expect the players to be very eager to get back to football after a four-week break, and we will be looking for a good performance in front of the home fans and to progress in the FA Trophy.

“We want to continue from where we left off with a win.”

Home fans are able to attend but they should please note that the bar and kitchen will be shut due to the current tier two restrictions.
