MALMESBURY racer Louis Harvey has taken another step towards realising his dream of becoming an F1 racing driver after signing a deal with current Rotax Max British Champions, Argenti Motorsport for the 2021 Rotax British Kart Championship.

The 2020 Junior TKM British Champion has enjoyed success at both club and national level in the Junior classes of karting, and he is also part of the Motorsport UK Academy Squad selection for 2020-21.

This season will mark the 16-year-old’s transition into the senior class, with the ultimate objective to moving to single-seater racing in 2022.

In addition to kart racing, Harvey also has his sights set on taking part in some F4 test days later in the year.

Ron Meadows, of Argenti Motorsport said: “Louis is a very welcome addition to our team. I have been extremely impressed by his performance in TKM Junior during the 2020 season, and it’s obvious to all that he has great potential.

“We expect him to be very competitive in the Rotax Max British Senior Championship from day one.”

Meanwhile, commenting on his signing, the Malmesbury racer said: “I am super excited to be joining Argenti motorsport and racing in the senior Rotax class this season.

“I cannot wait to work with the team throughout this year and I am confident that I can bring home some good results. This will be a big step forward for me and I excited to see what this year has to offer.”

Argenti Motorsport was set up to give drivers at the beginning of their journeys a more structured and stable environment to develop.

The racing company state their aim is “always for on-track success, but also to prepare racers for the next step – the kart drivers ready for cars, and the F4 drivers ready for the next challenge.”

While Harvey is confident in his racing ability, he is likely to need sponsorship to help him realise his dream. If any individuals or companies are interested in sponsoring the young racer, please contact chris.harvey@dudboy.com.
