SWINDON Town manager John Sheridan poured cold water over rumours surrounding a bust up with Anthony Grant, saying there is no story to be told.
Last season’s Adver Sport player of the season has not featured since playing the final minute of Swindon’s 3-2 victory over Ipswich Town on January 9, spending the majority of this calendar year on the bench.
Sheridan has previously downplayed rumours involving a disagreement between himself and a handful of senior Town players, and told reporters that there is still no story to be found in that regard.
Ahead of Town’s trip to Lincoln City, Sheridan was asked if there was a problem between he and Grant.
The Town boss laughed before saying: “If there was, I wouldn’t tell you guys anyway."
He continued: “But there should be a problem with every player who’s not playing. They should be so annoyed that they’re not in the team, they should not like the manager – that’s the way I was when I played.
“But at the same time, I’d show the manager what I'm about and force him to pick me.
“Any player who is not in the team should be unhappy, so if you guys are looking for a story about Anthony Grant – there isn’t one.”
