SALISBURY railway station has been given Grade II listed status by English Heritage.
The move follows a plea from Salisbury Civic Society, which was concerned about “the general air of dilapidation” surrounding the buildings, and wanted to protect them from any future development.
Spokesman Judith Payne said the society was delighted with the outcome and would be redoubling its efforts to get the site tidied up.
