In an emotional interview on the BBC Two spin-off show, Gorka recalled how he met his future wife.

"I met Gemma in 2017. She didn't dance with me she danced with Alijaz," he said.

"We just became very good mates and I think that was the key because we were friends before anything happened and now we have a beautiful daughter."

He added:  "Without Strictly I would never have Gemma.

"I think she's the best person in the world.

"She inspires me every day. She makes me a better man, a better person, a better person, better everything.

"I'm so grateful to have her and call her my fiancée."
