HIGHWORTH Town boosted their Hellenic League Premier Division title prospects with a narrow 1-0 win at home to Bracknell Town on Saturday.
Jeff Roberts’ side entered the game sitting pretty at the top of the table, 16 points ahead of Bracknell down in fourth.
However, the Berkshire side had four games in hand, meaning victory for either side at the Elms would be a real shot in the arm for their respective championship aspirations.
As it was, the Worthians took the spoils courtesy of Callum Parsons’ second-half strike and they are now eight points clear of second-placed Thatcham Town.
Elsewhere, Royal Wootton Bassett Town were beaten 3-1 away at Binfield, with Lewis Waldon was on target for Rich Hunter’s side.
Finally, Daniel Garden struck for Fairford Town as they earned a 1-1 draw at home to Burnham.
