ONE TO WATCH – Marcus Bean

MIDFIELDER Marcus Bean has scored just two goals for Wycombe Wanderers this season but both have come this month and could well be two of the most important for Gareth Ainsworth’s side this season.

Having drawn a blank in each of his first 24 appearances of the campaign, Bean broke his duck in spectacular fashion on February 3, netting the winner six minutes into stoppage time against Carlisle United as Wycombe turned a 3-2 deficit at 90 minutes into a 4-3 victory.

That clearly whet the 33-yearold’s appetite in front of goal as he was on the mark again at the weekend, scoring a second-half equaliser as Wanderers claimed a 1-1 draw away at Exeter City to extend their unbeaten streak in League Two to a sixth game.

KEY BATTLE – Matt Preston v Adebayo Akinfenwa

LITTLE needs to be said about the physical threat striker Adebayo Akinfenwa will pose Swindon Town tonight.

Much of Wycombe Wanderers forward play is likely to be aimed in at the 35-year-old striker and the Town defence can expect to have their hands full all evening.

Matt Preston did an outstanding job as the leader at the back in the absence of skipper Olly Lancashire at the weekend and will surely relish this kind of rough-and-tumble battle.
