ALAN Low is enjoying the local feel to this season's South West One East campaign as his Royal Wootton Bassett side prepare to welcome Trowbridge to Ballards Ash tomorrow.

Bassett moved up to third with victory at nearest rivals Swindon last weekend and with Chippenham, Marlborough and this weekend's opponents all in the division, believes the Wiltshire rugby landscape looks good.

Trowbridge broke their league duck last Saturday with a home triumph against Oxford Harlequins, whom Bassett also defeated on the opening day of the season, and Low said: "It will be good to welcome them up to the league.

"The league has been fairly consistent and it is good to see so many Wiltshire sides in the division now.

"There is probably less travelling in this league than there is in the league below.

"With six Wiltshire sides and then Wimborne thrown in there as well which is great for local rugby and the landscape.''

Low believes Bassett will need all their abilities to subdue a visiting side that has been in contention in nearly all of their games to date.

"They (Trowbridge) have been going well despite results not quite going their way, they have been in games for 60 minutes and then lost in the last 20,'' he added.

"They will be a tough outfit and I have no doubt they will be buoyed by their first win on Saturday.

"We don't get much of a chance to look at other teams, even if they are local, we tend to focus on what we can do.

"We don't look into the opposition and at this level you don't have the time to do match analysis on all the other teams and things.

"A lot of the guys know each other so you know what to expect from some of the players you come up against."
