SWINDON Wildcats shipped three goals in the final 10 minutes to slip to a 6-4 defeat at Raiders in NIHL South One on Sunday night.

Aaron Nell’s side had secured a dominant 5-0 win at home to Invicta Dynamos on Saturday and looked well-placed to complete a perfect weekend in London against Raiders.

However, after edging ahead early in the final period, the Cats could not maintain that momentum and it was the hosts who raised the tempo to take the win.

Filip Sedivy gave the home side an early lead on the night, but Swindon battled back to hold the advantage by the end of the first period, with Floyd Taylor restoring parity before Max Birbraer put the visitors ahead soon afterwards.

The contest remained closely contested in the second session as Jake Sylvester brought Raiders back level before Taylor got his second goal of the night to put the Cats back in front.

However, the teams would head into the final period all-square as Ollie Baldock bagged another equaliser for the hosts.

Swindon were able to get their noses back in front in the third period as Sam Jones hit the back of the net, but Raiders refused to roll over and Ashley Jackson struck to restore parity once more.

That goal gave the home side the impetus and JJ Pitchley hit the net to put the, in front for the first time since the first period before Brandon Ayliffe sealed the Cats’ fate with Raiders’ sixth goal late on.
