MELKSHAM Town will have to be on their game when they return to Southern League Division One South action for the first time in three weeks on Saturday as they have the small matter of a meeting against league leaders Blackfield & Langley.

Kieran Baggs’ side have seen their last two league fixtures postponed due to the weather, with a waterlogged pitch seeing last weekend’s trip to Cinderford Town called off after the scheduled home meeting against Bideford a week earlier was lost to the heavy snowfall.

Melksham have not played since going down 3-1 at home to Moneyfields on January 26 and resume their fixture programme back at the InfiLED Arena against pace-setting Blackfield.

The Hampshire side are on a five-match unbeaten streak at present, picking up 13 of 15 points in that time, and hold a one-point lead at the summit over Yate Town.

Melksham, meanwhile, find themselves safely placed in 10th in their first season at Southern League level following their promotion from Toolstation League Premier Division last summer, although they are only three points adrift of the final play-off position.
