DEVIZES Canoe Club’s Charlie Allen promotion to boys’ Grade C at the March sprint regatta in Nottingham.
Allen then followed that up with a series of strong results at the Wey Sprints competition.
The day started with a 2k time trial, where Allen placed 13th out of 48 paddlers in the H4 section in a time of 11mins 11secs.
There were also time spits during the time trial, with Allen eighth quickest over 200m, ninth at 500m and 10th at 1,000m.
Several Devizes members also took part in the final race in the Waterside Series ahead of the Devizes to Westminster International Canoe Race
The course consisted of 34 miles from Devizes Wharf to Newbury Waterside Centre.
Edd Dobson and Mike Rees-Clark were second in the K2 senior section in a time of 12hrs 1min 44secs.
In the K2 veteran class, Kevin Crabb and Neil Edgar placed sixth (14:40:00), while Mae Allen and Pete Clarke (15:28:50) were second in the junior/veteran combination section.
