CHIPPENHAM'S Amber Owen claimed her second Nupafeed Supplements Senior Discovery Second Round win of the season following victory at Ponderosa Equestrian Centre in Newport.

Owen and Could Be Gold, owned by Alison Davies, were one of 32 combinations to arrive at the Welsh show centre ready to take on the 12-fence track and hunting a treble-clear round to qualify for the Nupafeed Supplements Senior Discovery Championship Final at the British Showjumping National Championships in August.

Owen and seven-year-old Irish mare Could Be Gold, who won the Discovery Second Round at Parwood Equestrian Centre back in May, cruised to victory after crossing the finish line in 37.87secs – the only combination to break the 40-second marker.

Amy Thomson and her own Quattro 1, a six-year-old British bred gelding, were their closest opponents, posting a time of 44.23.

Ryan Becker took third place with his own Homein in 47.51, while the fourth and final treble clear came from Milly Cornock on Paul Cornock’s Just Do It I in 49.58 seconds.
