DEVIZES Canoe Club’s Mollie Ball has been chosen to represent British Canoeing at upcoming French National Championships.
Ball earned her place following the assessment events held at the British National Championships earlier this month where the 13-year-old won gold in both U14 K1 and K2 classes – the latter alongside partner Matilda Enoch.
Ball’s results led the way for Devizes at the event as she also placed 23rd in the mixed marathon competition alongside James Missen.
Her sister, Daisie Ball, was 40th alongside James New, while there were several all-Devizes crews in action.
Beatrix Fooks and Dan Jones came 43rd, Peter Clarke and Juliet Fooks were 63rd, Flossie Ball and Steven Bush came 64th, with Mark Ball and Jenny Jones 75th.
There was a Devizes victory in the U10 mini K2 race as Daisie Ball triumphed with partner Eloise Lamb. Fellow Devizes paddler Theo Bush was third in a boat with Caolin Caffrey.
In the O34 VMK2 class, Mark Ball and Steven Bush finished fourth.
