WARMINSTER took their tally of wins to five in Dorset & Wilts One North this season with a 24-7 success at home to Avonvale on Saturday.

The Folly Lane side are now up to sixth in the table and sit one place and one point below Melksham after they were beaten 35-20 at Chippenham 2nd.

Melksham began the day third in the table and looked to be taking control of the game in the first half thanks to converted tries from captain Nick Suter and Sam Norris, which put them 17-7 up at the break.

The tables were turned in the second half, though, as powerful Chippenham wing Emosi Nadaubale racked up three tries after evading the Melksham defence.

Despite Melksham adding to their scores with a penalty, it was not enough to prevent a comfortable home win.

Finally, Bradford on Avon picked up a positive result for the second match in a row following a 17-17 draw away at Marlborough 2nd.
